group mat classes (heated & Non heated)

A 55 min mat pilates class for all levels where we utilize optional props (ankle weights, hand weights, pilates ball, etc) to enhance the workout. Expect to hit all major muscle groups, as well as all movements of the spine. Heated classes will be infrared heat up to 100 degrees.

  • STOTT Pilates is a contemporary approach to traditional Pilates exercises. Founders worked alongside physical therapists, sports medicine and fitness professionals to refine all exercises and equipment. STOTT Pilates exercises help men and women alike develop strength, flexibility, endurance and posture without bulking or over-stressing joints.

  • Pilates has more of a focus on building core strength and improving posture- while yoga has an emphasis on flexibility and spirituality. The use of springs and resistance in Pilates equipment brings an increased challenge to what is just bodyweight work in yoga. Pilates contains exercises that are smaller & more isolated moves rather than holding postures for a long time in yoga.

  • I did my STOTT Level 1 Mat & Reformer training at Equilibrium Studio in Michigan- which has been training instructors in contemporary pilates for over 26 years. I have a Pre/Postnatal Intensive Certificate by Erica Bell (10.5hrs). I have also completed prenatal mat and athletic conditioning workshops through STOTT, as well as a workshop in training professional athletes with Nicky Lal of Fuerza Pilates. I plan to round out my STOTT Cadillac/Chair/Barrels training in the Fall 2024.

  • I have a Merrithew reformer as well as assorted smaller props such as bands, hand weights, jump boards, and yoga blocks to aid in the workout and keep things fresh each session.

  • YES! I have a jump board attachment for the reformer that helps ramp up exercises to increase heart rate for a nice cardio burn/sweat.

  • I’m working to fit two Merrithew reformers in my home studio…

  • YES! Pilates is an incredible workout for moms & moms-to-be. We will tailor each session to your specific goals & concerns- while safely preparing your body for labor and postpartum. It's important for women to understand modifications to make during each stage of pregnancy / postpartum and my training has prepared me to do so.

  • Pilates is an amazing cross training workout- whether you are a runner, weight lifter, golfer, etc. Pilates can be personally tailored to compliment your current, active lifestyle.
